SELECT YOUR EYELINER: BRUSH TIP LIQUID EYELINERS
Brush tip liquid eyeliners are similar to a paintbrush because they have flexible bristles. The flexibility takes a bit of getting used to, but it offers the precision needed to create lines ranging from razor-thin to bold and graphic. -
SELECT YOUR EYELINER: FELT TIP LIQUID EYELINERS
Felt tip liquid eyeliners are stiffer than brush tips, and as such are perfect for creating thicker lines for bold looks. -
GETTING STARTED
If you are planning on wearing eyeshadow, make sure to apply that before liquid eyeliner. It will help keep the liner in place and prevent you from covering your liner up with shadow. -
DRAW THE DOTS IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR EYELIDS
This technique is as simple as connecting the dots and will be much easier than trying to draw one perfect seamless line. Start by using the liquid eyeliner to draw a dot in the middle of your lash line, close to your eye. The size of the dot should match how thick you would like your eyeliner. -
DRAW THE DOTS IN THE CORNERS
Apply a small dot at the inner corner of the eye where you want the eyeliner to begin, and at the outer corner right at the point you want to begin the flick. Add a small dot where you want the flick to end, angling up and away from your lower lash line. -
CONNECT THE DOTS
Now you are ready to connect the dots. Draw a line between the dots, filling in where needed. Use a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover to fix any mistakes and to help you create a sharp flick. Don’t be afraid to mess up--nearly every pro-makeup artist uses this swab trick to create precise, even lines.
